Heritage Award Dinner
Boys and Girls Country’s 26th Annual Heritage Award Dinner was held Thurs., Nov. 2 at the Hilton Americas Hotel and raised just over $2 million. The event attracted nearly 1,000 guests who honored the Boys and Girls Country Alumni, recognizing the mark they are making on the world, and featured entertainment by Martin Short. The dinner is the organization’s largest annual fundraising event, and monies raised help cover operating expenses as well as programs and services such as the College and Career program, education lab, healthcare and counseling services.
“Boys and Girls Country is home to more than 100 children and young adults from families in crisis, fulfilling a critical need for children who need a Christian home with caring adults, structure, and support,” said Event Chair Steve Stephens. “Children in our home live in one of 11 cottages and are cared for by Teaching Parents that raise them as their own, preparing them for successful futures.”
Event Co-Chair Bill Way said “We were proud to honor and recognize our Boys and Girls Country alumni for the mark they are making on the world around them. It is through the support of our donors and the Heritage Award Dinner that we are able to provide the day-to-day care of our kids and provide them with the tools to be successful. Boys and Girls Country is a forever home for these kids and continues supporting them through college, trade or technical school, a first job, or joining the military. Like all families, we want them to be contributing adults and ready for the world.”
Major underwriters of the event included the Gatewood Family Foundation, Amegy Bank, Dealer Computer Services, EnCap Investments L.P./Eva and Bobby Haier, Bryan and DeLinda Herr, The Loyd Charitable Foundation, Pace Concrete, PJS, Ranger Steele, The Rushing River Foundation, Sim-Tex, L.P., Paul and Staci Sorensen, Southwestern Energy, and the Stephens Family.
Boys and Girls Country is grateful to every donor, volunteer, staff member and guest that helped make this night an event to remember. Thank you!
