10/04/09 Waller County Fair Winners!

The Waller County Fair was a chance for our kids to show the animals they raised for months in the 4-H program...and they came away winners!  We thank all of our friends who made their success in the 4-H program and at the fair possible.  In addition to those listed below for their help with specific projects, we would like to thank Chuck and Rita Scianna, our friends at Sim-Tex, who bought nearly all of our kids' animals at auction, and Mike Bishop, who bought Haymanot's colt. 

We would also like to thank our friends at Harris County Department of Education's Cooperative for After-School Enrichment (CASE), for supporting our 4-H program, along with our equestrian program and our theater education program!  CASE After School Initiative is funded in part by Houston Endowment, Inc.

Haymanot also received an award from the Horse Council for his hard work and dedication, along with the Guy Stoops Award, given to the exhibitor who best demonstrates the ideals of sportsmanship, including respect, civility, responsibility, fairness, honesty, and unselfishness.  Congratulations, Haymanot!

Special thanks to Ava Urbanovsky, Doug Tallent Quarter Horses, and Thomas Waind of Langdon, North Dakota for getting Zeus donated to the program for the project, and to the Greater Houston Quarter Horse Association for sponsoring Haymanot.
