08/15/10 Thank you for a great summer!

We had an amazing summer, full of fun, learning, and quality time with everyone on campus! 

It was a summer of swimming (and learning to swim!) in The Backyard Pool...

...fun games and relay races in the gym...

...fun in the art room and recreation center...

...and just general silliness!

(not to mention the sisterhood of the traveling pink shirt...)

We would like to thank everyone who made the summer great, including tutors Pat Dunaway and Amber Groll, art instructor Diane Parman, dance instructor Lauren Tidwell, swimming instructor Andrea Morton, guitar instructors Charles Barnes and Mark Trekell, and Tom Behrens, a tutor who also runs our Outdoor Club and takes our kids fishing! Gay Getschmann and Judy and Joe Veale came up with fun activities for our kids, and Erika Morton, a college student, coordinated our summer events – including our talent show!  – through an internship made possible by the ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program. 

Erika also helped to set up a tour of the 104.1 KRBE radio station for our kids!  Thank you to KRBE's Michael Briggs, Sales Representative, and Peter Remington, Market Manager, for giving our kids a behind-the-scenes look at KRBE!  Our kids also met Roula, Ryan, Producer Eric, Special K, and Phoenix from the Roula and Ryan Morning Show...and got to say hello to Houston on the radio!   

(Sports buff Hunter also had an "interview" for his future position as sportscaster at the station!)

It was hard to top all this fun, but the Salem Lutheran Church Youth Group came out in full force to hold a Fun Day...with a Waterpalooza festival, games of all kinds, and even an old car to demolish!  Thank you to our friends at Salem Lutheran for ending our summer with a splash!

 We'll miss you summer...Till next year!
