05/03/10 A Tribute to Moms...Plus, Our Top 10 Gift Ideas!

Mother's Day is a time to honor moms...those we have known since birth, and those we have met along the way, who love us, care for us, nurture and support us...and help us do – and be – our best. 

One of our girls who lived here years ago wrote back to our housemom who took care of her when she was a kid. She wrote, “Not a day goes by that I don’t talk about you. I love you so much; you were always such a great Mom to me.”

10. She cooks for us – spaghetti, macaroni, tacos, and chocolate cake!
9.  She checks our homework and looks at our report cards.
8.  She lets us have a day off where we can just stay in our pajamas and play video games!
7.  She signs something so we can go on field trips with our school. 
6.  She reads to us.
5.  She always dresses nice.
4.  She listens.
3.  She always keeps us on track, teaches us, and lets us have fun.
2.  She throws away the candy if it isn’t good anymore. (Others in the cottage had different opinions:  “No, she throws it all away!” “No she doesn’t!")
