06/02/08 Congratulations, Class of 2008!

The High School Graduates
We are proud of our 12 high school graduates in the Class of 2008 -- the second largest graduating class in our history!  These amazing young women and men have distinguished themselves in many ways over the years -- whether they have been with us for a couple of years, or have grown up with us for over 10 years.  This year's Texas Scholars include Alex, Amy, David, Johnny, Luke, and Meagan.  The A Honor Roll includes Amy, Bruce, Laura, Luke, and Meagan.  Scholarship winners include David, Johnny, Laura, and Luke.  Laura is a member of the National Honor Society.

Senior Day
We celebrated and honored each graduate at our campus Senior Day, a time for seniors to remember life at Boys and Girls Country.  Each senior, and staff members who spoke on their behalf, reflected on where they've been, what they've learned, where they'll go next...and what they'll take with them as the move into the next stage of their lives.  Some will attend four-year universities and community colleges, while others will enter trade and technical school programs.

The College Grad
Jerome, a young adult in the College and Career program, graduated from Paramedic Training Academy this spring!  He earned his certificate through determination and focus -- and also gained extensive experience in the field through his job as an Emergency Medical Technician.  Jerome worked diligently -- and learned something every step of the way -- to get him to his goal, and his hard work and perseverance will take him anywhere he wants to go.  We are so proud of you, Jerome!
