06/22/10 The 24th Annual Children's Awards Banquet

At the 24th Annual Children's Awards Banquet, we honored our children for their achievements in the past year...and it was a wonderful night!  Our theme was "Keys to Success"...and we thank each and every one of you for being the key to our children's success.

Song: "Love Wins" by Robbie Seay Band

We would also like to thank the evening's sponsors, the Cypress Belles Chapter of the National Charity League, which provided beautiful decorations and wonderful volunteers who served our guests, and St. Francis Episcopal Church, which provided the evening's dinner, along with servers and the venue.  The night would not have been possible without you!

 And the winners are...

Gerry Lyon Memorial Award

Gerry Lyon was a former resident at Boys and Girls Country who overcame obstacles that might seem impossible to others. All the time he maintained a positive attitude and outlook on life. Gerry was a friendly, hard working young man. His life was cut short in an automobile accident the summer after he graduated from Waller High School.

The Gerry Lyon Memorial Award is given each year in his memory to a current resident who has overcome hardship, maintained a positive attitude, and is sincerely grateful for the opportunities he or she has had at Boys and Girls Country.

This year's Gerry Lyon Memorial Award Winner is graduating senior Levi!

Kids Choice Award

Alexandra, Chair of the Normative Leadership Council, our campus student leadership group, presented the Kids' Choice Award to Levi and Denisha.

 Congratulations to all!
