We kicked things off with our Door Decorating Contest, and thanks to some really awesome donated prizes, the competition was fierce! Friends from the Yellow Rose Chapter of the National Charity League served as our esteemed judges. Helen and the other girls in Cottage 4 turned their home into a gingerbread house, complete with candy canes hanging from the roof and snow on the windowsill!
Sherry welcomed the judges to Cottage 3. The top prize went to Cottage 8! A couple of days later, the Northwest Houston Chapter of the San Jacinto High Rollers came to campus with toys for all of our kids. This toy run is a tradition they've kept for more than 30 years, and it's one of our favorite Christmas events! We all gathered out by the fence to wave as hundreds of bikers - including Santa on his very own Harley - roared onto campus! Ashleigh, Allea, Mekde, and Kaleigh made signs to welcome our High Roller friends! Alden's eyes pop at the sight of all those motorcycles arriving! Santa! Next, we celebrated our "Day of Wonder," and all of our cottage families celebrated with friends in the community, who provided food, fun, fellowship, and, of course, wonder! Our Cottage 3 Family had a great time with friends from Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union and a feast of fajitas!
