> Boys and Girls Country of Houston Welcome > News & Events > News > 11/20/12 Heritage Award Dinner 11/20/12 Heritage Award DinnerBoys and Girls Country Heritage Award Dinner Hockley, TX, Tuesday, November 20, 2012— The 21st annual Heritage Award Dinner to benefit Boys and Girls Country was held recently at the Hilton of the Americas and honored Ann and Clarence Cazalot. Featured entertainment for the evening was Steve Martin, and 1,300 attendees were treated to a night filled with excitement. Guests were also entertained by the Boys and Girls Country Singers, and two youth from the Home shared how their lives have been transformed while living there. In addition, the auctions brought much anticipation and fun including the auction of a banjo played and signed by Steve Martin which brought $75,000. The Heritage Award Dinner is the largest single fundraiser held by Boys and Girls Country each fall. With the most attendance ever this year, over $2 million was raised which was also a record for the Home. All of the proceeds from the gala will be used to provide the daily needs of the 88 children living at Boys and Girls Country along with the 12 young adults attending college. |
