02/16/09 The Junior National Honor Society Inducts Two Girls From Boys and Girls Country

The children and staff at Boys and Girls Country celebrate Ashley and Tiffany who were inducted into the Junior National Honor Society at Waller Jr. High School.  They have focused on academics through the help of staff and volunteer tutors.  The excitement of these girls permeated the campus and set another high standard for our other girls and boys.

Many children who come to Boys and Girls Country are two to four grades behind their peers in school when they arrive, due to circumstances beyond their control.  Through self-determination and hard work, along with the efforts of dedicated volunteer tutors and staff, they are able to reach grade level and accomplish new achievements, as Ashley and Tiffany have done.

Says Shirley Wright, Executive Director, "Our hats are off to Tiffany and Ashley for their success.  We are proud of them and excited about how this positions them for future choices."
