02/06/09 Community Children Knit Prayer Shawls for Girls at Boys and Girls Country

Children often want to help other children, but frequently don't find an avenue.  Through the leadership of Adelle Muller-McKinstry and other mothers in the Houston area who are home schooling their children, elementary and middle-school aged children have made a difference for our little girls at Boys and Girls Country.

Girls and boys between the ages of 7 and 12 participated several months in a "Knit for Love" project where they knitted beautiful prayer shawls for our girls in the colors our girls had requested. 

The goal of this project was to surround each of our girls in prayer as the knitting was being done.  As each row was knitted, the child prayed that God bless the child.  They represented children from Catholic, Episcopal, Methodist, and Baptist backgrounds.
