Volunteers from Germany

Since 2000-2001 we have had a partnership with the Verein Berliner Austauschschüler (VBA) as part of the ADiA program in Germany; 23 volunteers have come to Texas and been a part of our big family. We welcome these full-time volunteers and they play a very important role in our Home. For eleven months they support our staff in different areas. We match maturity level, skills, and experience with the needs in the organization to place each volunteer in the right job. A positive attitude, commitment to the job assigned, honesty, and flexibility are key features we look for in a volunteer. The relationships continue with children and/or staff long after they return to Germany from Boys and Girls Country service.
