Volunteers from Germany

We have a partnership with the „Verein für Soziale Dienste International e.V.“ (Social Services) as part of the ADiA program in Germany; 26 volunteers have come to Texas and been a part of our big family through this program since 2001. This is an ADiA volunteer position in lieu of military service in Germany.

In the role of Volunteer for Support and Administrative Services, they support us for twelve months in the departments of administration, development, operations, commissary, dining, and other support areas that are so critical to our agency.

We match maturity level, skills, and experience with the needs in the organization to place each volunteer in the right area or support positions. A positive attitude, commitment to the role assigned, honesty, and flexibility are key features we look for in a volunteer. The relationships continue with children and/or staff long after they return to Germany from Boys and Girls Country service.
