Please note: All volunteers ages 14 and up must successfully complete a background check before beginning service. Sorry, we are unable to offer court-ordered community service hours.

Education Volunteers

Tutors wanted! If you can teach kids in areas from basic reading and math to science and geography, come be a part of our tutoring team! Here are the details:
- Monday-Thursday 3:30-8:00 p.m. (as few or as many hours as your schedule permits)
- Grades K-12, ACT/SAT/TAKS preparation

Maintenance Volunteers
|
If you are handy with tools, or have an enthusiastic group willing to take on a home improvement project on our campus, we could really use your help with various tasks, including:
- Plumbing
- Electrical
- Sheet rock repair
- Tile/carpet installation and repair
- Auto mechanics
- Ranching
- Groundskeeping
Painting Projects (great for groups!):
- Cottage exteriors
- Barns
- Fence

4-H Program
- Experience with showing animals, photography, sewing, gardening, etc
Landscape Projects
Horse Program
- Assist Equestrian Coordinator with working horses, cleaning barn, etc.

What are your talents? Come share them with our kids in a summer workshop!

Lifeguards Needed!

Recreation Volunteers
|
We need enthusiastic volunteers who love kids and can help with:
- Dance/cheerleading lessons.
- Music lessons (and, if you can tune a piano, or know someone who can, we have pianos across campus that need a skilled hand!)
- Sports clinics
- Fitness

Special Events Volunteers
|
It takes a village to stage one of our events! You can be a part of our fundraising events, from the Heritage Award Dinner to the Spring Festival! As a volunteer you can help with:
- Mailings
- Data entry
- Spring Festival (a cast of hundreds of volunteers is needed!)
- Staff carnival-type booths
- Assist with silent auction

Clothing Closet Volunteers
|
The Clothing Closet is our on-campus clothing area, where children "shop" for new and gently used donated clothing, shoes, and accessories. We need volunteers to:
- Sort clothing
- Hang items
- Display outfits
- Rotate seasonal clothing
- Assist houseparents and residents while shopping

Commissary Volunteers
|
The Commissary is where we maintain our supply of food and supplies for our children and cottages. We are looking for volunteers for the following roles:
- Stock shelves
- Fulfill grocery orders
- Provide a meal for a cottage – great for groups!
- Data entry

Administrative Volunteers
|
You can help keep our Administration Building running! As a volunteer, you can take on the following duties:
- Answer phones
- File
- Greet guests
- Data entry
- Computer support – techies wanted!
