Danielle's Story

  “They care about you here….They love you...
and they’ll always be here.”

“Danielle” came to us with her sister “Katy”. They were a part of a larger group of siblings who were separated because their family divided them up…but we knew – and Danielle and Katy knew – that their younger brother and sisters needed to be here. Their family members were in and out of jail…used drugs…and weren’t able to give their children the care they needed. We worked for several years with the family and the courts to get the children to safety at our Home, and when we finally succeeded, their big sisters rejoiced to see them again. The joy was mixed with the sorrow of all the years, and family members, they had lost, and we grieved with them through it all.

Today, Danielle is grateful beyond words for all she has. She knows, just as she knew for her siblings, that Boys and Girls Country is the best place for her. She loves us unconditionally, as we love her. She tells her siblings,

“They care about you here….They love you, and they’ll always be here.” 

We have been family to Danielle and all of her siblings…through the most difficult times – and through the joyful seasons. We consider it a God-given privilege to be parents to these children – and all those who are entrusted to us.
